A recent directive from the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Department of Personnel & Training, has withdrawn a previous order concerning the premature repatriation of Shri V. Murugesan, an IPS officer serving in the CBI. This withdrawal is a consequence of directions from the Supreme Court, extending his tenure in the CBI beyond the initially set date of August 17, 2014, until further orders are issued by the court. The order, dated February 5, 2015, supersedes an earlier order from May 12, 2014, and has been communicated to various authorities including the Central Vigilance Commissioner, the Director (Police) at MHA, and the Director (Technical) at NIC for updating the DOPT website.
