Vacancies in the Grade of LDC for the Select List Year 2011

V

This Office Memorandum from the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions addresses the furnishing of vacancies for the Lower Division Clerk (LDC) grade for the Select List Year 2011. It details a decision not to participate in the Clerks’ Grade Examination for Group ‘C’ staff, opting instead to nominate remaining candidates from the 2008 Clerk’s Grade Examination. Furthermore, the memorandum outlines a Cabinet decision to abolish 85% of LDC posts meant for direct recruitment annually until the cadre strength reaches 15% of its sanctioned strength as of October 3, 2003. Cadre units are instructed to prepare Post Based Reservation Rosters for LDC positions from the Select List Year 2004 onwards, ensuring adherence to existing reservation policies for SC/ST candidates.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Furnishing of vacancies in the grade of LDC for the Select List Year 2011- regarding

This has reference to this Department’s O.M. of even number dated 5th July 2011 on the above subject. As stated therein this Department has already nominated candidates to various cadre units on the basis of the vacancies intimated by them for the Select List Years 2008, 2009 and 2010. As another 26 candidates are still available for nomination on the basis of Clerk’s Grade Examination 2008 (Limited Departmental), this Department has decided not to participate in the Clerks’ Grade Examination (for erstwhile Group ‘D’ Staff now Group ‘C’) for the Select List Year 2011 and to nominate these remaining candidates as per the pre-amended rules i.e. Central Secretariat Clerical Service (Lower Division Grade Qualifying Examination for Group ‘D’ Staff) Regulation, 1969.

  1. While reporting vacancies for the Select List Year 2011, it may be noted that as per the decision of the Cabinet 85 % of the posts in the grade of LDC, meant for Direct Recruitment, will be abolished every year till the strength reaches 15 % of the sanctioned strength of the cadre unit as on 03 / 10 / 2003. Accordingly, the remaining vacancies which are to be filled up by Seniority as well as Limited Departmental Examination mode shall be filled up by making necessary reservation for SCs/STs candidates. All cadre units are, therefore, requested to prepare Post Based Reservation Roster for the post of LDC from the Select List Year 2004 onwards by providing necessary reservation as per the extant Reservation Policy.
