OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Training of Non-Statutory Departmental Canteens employees on Food Safety & Standards norms by Food Safety & Standards Authority of India.
The undersigned is directed to refer to this Department’s O.M. of even number dated 24.06.2018 on the above subject and to state that Section 31(1) of FSS Act, 2006 stipulates that no person shall commence or carry on any food business/activity except under a license. Also sub-regulation 2.1.2(3) of FSS (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses) Regulation, 2011 stipulates that License for commencing or carrying on food business, which falls under Schedule 1, shall be granted by the Central Licensing Authority, which are required to pay fee of Rs.7500/- per annum as per schedule 3 of above mentioned Regulation.
- It is informed that as a special discretion, FSSAI has approved Departmental Canteens at various locations having turnover less than Rs.12 lakh per annum to be registered on payment of fee @ Rs.100/- per annum and as a facilitation measure, the canteens would be registered on spot during the scheduled training workshop on 16.06.2018.
- In view of the above, all trainees/participants are required to be present with the following documents for on-spot Registration:
a) Aadhar Card/Pan Card
b) One Passport size Photo
c) Employer ID Card
d) Registration Fee i.e. Rs.130/-

All the trainees are requested to submit the registration fee in the training program, which may be claimed subsequently from the concerned Ministries/Departments.
