The Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation observed Statistics Day on June 29th, 2023, focusing on the alignment of the State Indicator Framework with the National Indicator Framework to monitor Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event included registration of delegates followed by an inaugural session with addresses from dignitaries, including Shri A.K. Biswas and Dr. G P Samanta. The session proceeded with addresses by Prof. Rajeeva Laxman Karandikar, a message from Prof. Sanghamitra Bandyopadhyay, and felicitations for the winners of an essay writing competition. Subsequent activities included report and publication releases by MoSPI, and addresses by Rao Inderjit Singh. A technical session featured presentations from the Social Statistics Division of MoSPI, Mr. Shombi Sharp, and Shri Rajesh Gupta. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a lunch.
