Exciting news for civil service professionals! The process for determining seniority and the year of allotment for a cohort of officers transitioning from State Civil Services in West Bengal to the prestigious Indian Administrative Service (IAS) has been finalized. This pivotal update follows their inclusion in the 2022 Select List, reflecting a significant career advancement. The meticulous calculation of their seniority is guided by the established IAS (Regulation of Seniority) Rules of 1987, alongside subsequent amendments. A specific weightage formula, which factors in completed years of qualifying service, plays a crucial role in this determination, ensuring fairness and consistency across the board. These newly integrated officers are set to be strategically placed within the IAS hierarchy. Specifically, they will rank immediately below Ms. Tshering Y Bhutia, a distinguished IAS officer from the 2013 batch (West Bengal Cadre), and above Shri Subrata Kumar De, who is also a 2013 batch promote IAS officer from West Bengal (Non-SCS category). This clear delineation of their standing marks a significant milestone in their public service journey, impacting future career progression and responsibilities.
