Revision of Allocation for Constables Yogendra Singh Rawat, Sher Singh, and Shiv Singh to Uttarakhand

R

In a significant administrative move, the Government of India has approved the final allocation of three constables — Yogendra Singh Rawat, Sher Singh, and Shiv Singh — to Uttarakhand. This decision follows a thorough review by an Advisory Committee, which met on February 14, 2011. The committee carefully considered the individuals’ representations, which were primarily based on their domicile in Uttarakhand and their expressed preference for the state. This reconsideration was prompted by specific directions issued by the Hon’ble High Court of Uttarakhand in Nainital through a writ petition dated September 9, 2008. The acceptance of these recommendations underscores the government’s commitment to addressing personnel allocation issues, especially when guided by judicial pronouncements and individual preferences regarding their home state. This decision is, however, contingent upon the resolution of any other pending court cases related to the matter.
