This document details the promotions of two officers, Shri Virender Kapoor and Dr. Anil Kumar, to the position of Director of the Central Secretariat Service (CSS). Shri Kapoor, previously a Deputy Secretary in the Department of Biotechnology, has been promoted and will assume charge on or after May 1st, 2010. Dr. Kumar, formerly with the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, is also promoted to Director and will be posted to the Ministry of Telecommunications, replacing Shri N.M. Perumal upon his superannuation. The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation is instructed to relieve Dr. Kumar immediately to facilitate his transition to the new role without waiting for a replacement.

OFFICE ORDER
Consequent upon his inclusion in the Senior Selection Grade (Director) Select List of CSS for the year 2009, Shri Virender Kapoor, Selection Grade (Deputy Secretary) officer of CSS, presently working in the Department of Biotechnology is hereby promoted as Director of CSS on regular basis with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post of Director in that Department on or after 01.05.10.

Consequent upon his inclusion in the Senior Selection Grade (Director) Select List of CSS for the year 2009, Dr. Anil Kumar, Selection Grade (Deputy Secretary) officer of CSS, presently working in the Ministry of Statics and Programme Implementation is hereby promoted as Director of CSS and posted to the Ministry of Telecommunications, vice Shri N.M. Perumal, Director CSS superannuating on 30.04.10, with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post of Director in that Ministry.
2. The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation is requested to relieve the officer immediately to join the Ministry of Telecommunications where he has been nominated without waiting for a substitute to enable him to avail the regular promotion to Senior Selection Grade (Director) in the CSS. Necessary order for posting of substitute will be issued separately.
