This document details the ad-hoc promotion of Shri Sunil Kumar Kansal, a Section Officer in the Ministry of Defence, to the position of Under Secretary within the Central Secretariat Service (CSS). The promotion is subject to several conditions, including the lack of guaranteed continuation, potential termination without cause, and non-counting of ad-hoc service towards seniority or future promotions. It’s also contingent on vigilance clearance and the outcome of a pending case before the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT). The Ministry of Defence is responsible for issuing the formal notification upon the officer assuming charge, with a copy to be sent to the Department of Personnel and Training.
