This office memorandum details the President’s approval for the ad-hoc appointment of 33 Principal Private Secretaries (PPS) of the Central Secretariat Service (CSSS) to the position of Senior Principal Private Secretary (Sr.PPS). The appointments are valid up to March 31, 2011, or until the posts are filled on a regular basis. The memorandum outlines the process for relieving the officers, clarifies that the ad-hoc appointment doesn’t guarantee indefinite continuation or seniority, and lists the names and cadre details of the appointed officers in an annexure. It also specifies the cadre units to which the officers are nominated.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Promotion of Principal Private Secretary (PPS) of CSSS to Sr. Principal Private Secretary (Sr.PPS) of CSSS on ad-hoc basis – reg.

The sanction of the President is hereby accorded to the appointment of 33 regular PPS of CSSS whose names are given in the annexure to this OM to the post of Sr.PPS of CSSS in the scale of Rs. 15600-39100+ Grade Pay Rs. 7600 on ad-hoc basis for a period upto 31.03.2011 or till the posts are filled up on regular basis or until further orders, whichever is earlier and to nominate them to the cadre units shown against their names for appointment as Sr.PPS.

  1. The ad-hoc appointment of these officers shall take effect from the date they assume charge of the post of Sr.PPS. The cadre units where the above mentioned officers are presently working are requested to relieve them immediately under intimation to this Department after ensuring that no vigilance case is either pending or being contemplated against them.
  2. The appointment of the officers to the grade of Sr.PPS is purely on ad-hoc basis and shall not confer on them any right to continue in the grade indefinitely or claim seniority in the grade of Sr.PPS.
