This Office Memorandum from the Ministry of Personnel, P.G. and Pensions details the criteria for assessing Assistant Section Officers (ASOs) of the Central Secretariat Service (CSS) for promotion to Section Officers on an ad-hoc basis. OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Promotion of Assistant Section Officers (ASOs) of CSS as Section Officers of CSS on ad-hoc basis – Regarding
In continuation of this Department’s OM of even number dated 01.12.2022, the undersigned is directed to say that in addition to ASOs included in the Final Part CSL of ASO Grade of CSS for the year 2013 issued vide this Department’s OM No. 7/1/2018CS.I(A) dated 01.12.2022 the following categories of ASOs may also be assessed for promotion as SO on ad-hoc basis and recommendations of the DPC forwarded to this Department with due approval of competent authority:
i. ASOs upto ASO CSL 2012 who are still working as ASO, subject to fulfilling:
a) Debarment Condition as per this Department’s OM No. 5/1/2008-CS-I(S) dated 08.04 .2011
b) Lien Condition as per this Department’s OM No. 28020/1/2010-Estt.(C) dated 17.08.2016
ii. ASOs who are still in service and whose cases have been kept under sealed cover earlier for regular/adhoc promotion.
