The Department of Personnel & Training issued an order on February 9, 2022, directing Ministries/Departments to relieve surplus Senior Principal Private Secretaries and Principal Private Secretaries by September 7, 2021. However, several officers hadn’t been relieved as of the order’s date. Requests for retention from DPIIT, Food & PD, MSME, and UPSC were examined and ultimately denied. Consequently, all un-relieved officers are now deemed relieved and directed to report to their assigned Ministries/Departments as per previous orders dated August 31, 2021, and September 28, 2021. An annexure lists the names, designations, dates of birth, current postings, and new postings of the affected officers.

ORDER
This Department’s Order of even number dated 31.08.2021 directed the concerned Ministries/Departments to relieve the surplus Senior Principal Private Secretary and Principal Private Secretary concerned by 07.09.2021 so that the officers could join the allocated Ministry/Department. However, it has been observed that the officers as in Annexure have not been relieved so far by their respective cadre units.
- Apart from this, there have been requests from DPIIT, Food & PD, MSME and UPSC for retention of officers posted in their cadre units. The matter has been examined in the Department and with the approval of Competent Authority, it has been decided not to accede to the request for retention of officers of these cadre units.
- Accordingly, all the Senior Principal Private Secretary and Principal Private Secretary who have not yet been relieved, are hereby deemed relieved from their respective cadre units with immediate effect with the direction to report for duty to their allotted Ministries/Departments as per Order dated 31.08.2021 and OM dated 28.09.2021.
