Order Regarding Allocation of State Government Employees Between Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand

This order details the continuation of work for allocating state government employees between Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand following the end of the State Advisory Committee’s tenure. The remaining tasks will be handled by the Joint Secretary-headed committee. For significant policy decisions, the meetings will be chaired by the Secretary (P), with the Chief Secretaries of both Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand in attendance. This directive has been approved by the Secretary (P). The order is addressed to the Chief Secretaries of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and copies are sent to the Principal Secretaries of their respective State Re-organisation Departments, as well as to the PPS to Secretary (P) and PS to JS(AT&A).

ORDER

Government of India had constituted a Committee under the Chairmanship of Joint Secretary dealing with issue of State Re-organisation vide OM No.27/25/2007-SR(S) dated 18th December, 2009 to assist the Central Government in completion of final allocation of State Government employees between the successor State of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. In view of the fact that tenure of the State Advisory Committee has ended on 30th June, 2010, the remaining work relating to allocation of State Government employees between the successor State of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand shall be performed by the Committee headed by the Joint Secretary subject to the condition that in case of matters involving major policy decisions, meetings of the Committee will be chaired by Secretary (P) and Chief Secretaries of both, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, will also be invited for such meetings.
