Office Memorandum on Grant of Long Term Study Leave for Deputation Officers

O

This office memorandum outlines new guidelines approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet regarding long-term study leave for officers on deputation. Key decisions include the requirement for prior concurrence from the Department of Personnel & Training (DOP&T) for granting such leave to officers under the Central Staffing Scheme or as Chief Vigilance Officers in Central PSUs. Additionally, officers must complete at least two years of service in the Centre before being eligible for long-term study leave. Upon completion of their study leave, officers will automatically revert to their parent cadre. The memorandum is addressed to all Secretaries to the Government and copies are forwarded for information and necessary action to various offices, including the Prime Minister’s Office, Cabinet Secretariat, and relevant departments within DOP&T.
