This office memorandum reiterates the importance of complying with the guidelines for suo-motu disclosure under Section 4 of the RTI Act, 2005. It highlights that the initial deadline for operationalizing these guidelines was April 15, 2013, with a subsequent requirement to submit an Action Taken Report on compliance within six months. The memorandum notes that many Ministries, Departments, and Public Authorities have failed to submit this report. Therefore, all concerned are urged to comply with the guidelines immediately and submit the compliance report to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and the Central Information Commission without further delay.
