This notification announces the appointment of Mr. Rupinder Singh Randhawa, a member of the Punjab State Administrative Service, to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). This appointment, made on probation until further orders, is based on the selection list for the year 2008. Mr. Randhawa has been allocated to the Punjab cadre of the IAS, in accordance with the provisions of the Indian Administrative Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954, and other relevant regulations. The appointment is made by the President, exercising powers vested in him, in consultation with the state government.

भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा (पदोलित्ति द्वारा नियुक्ति) विलियमावली, 1955 के विलियम 9(1) तथा भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा (परिवीक्षा) लियमावली, 1954 के नियम 3 के साथ पठित भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा (भर्ती) लियमावली, 1954 के नियम 8(1) द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों का प्रयोग करते हुए राष्ट्रपति, चयन सूची वर्ष 2008 के लिए, राज्य-सरकार के परामर्श से उपर्युक्त विलियमावली के विलियम 5(1) के अंतर्गत भारत-सरकार द्वारा निर्धारित रिक्तियों पर भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा में पंजाब की राज्य प्रशासनिक सेवा के सदस्य श्री रूपीदर सिंह रंधावा को अगले आदेशों तक परिवीक्षा पर नियुक्त करते हैं और उन्हें भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा (संवर्ग) लियमावली, 1954 के नियम 5(1) के अन्तर्गत भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा के पंजाब संवर्ग में आबंटित करते हैं ।
