CIRCULAR

Sub: National Sports Day on 29.8.2023

The National Sports Day is celebrated every year on 29.8.2023 to mark the tradition
of sports in India and as a tribute to the Hockey legend Major dhyan Chand. Fit India
Mission was also launched on this day in 2019. The Government of India, Department of
Sports purposes to celebrate the National Sports Day with the theme of Sports as an
enabler for an inclusive and fit society.

2. In line with the above statement, Central Civil Services Cultural and Sports Board
   (CCSCSB) is organizing following events on 29.8.2023 on the occasion of National Sports Day.

(i) Athletic 100 Mtr (Men and Women)
(ii) Athletic – Lemon race, Sack Race, Tug of War (Men and Women)
(iii) Kho – Kho (Men and Women)
(iv) Volleyball (Men and Women)
(v) Basketball (Men and Women)

3. Fit India Pledge to all the participants will be solemnised at 10.30 AM on 29.8.2023.

4. Last date for submission of entries, Central Civil Services Cultural & Sports Board,
   Room No 361, ‘B’ Wing, 3rd Floor, Lok Nayak Bhavan, Khan Market, New Delhi – 110003 is 28th
   August, 2023. Entries can also be forwarded to the email ID doptsports@gmail.com. On
   spot entries will also be accepted at the venue.

5. All Civilian employees of Government of India posted in Delhi/New Delhi are invited to
   participate in the event. The interested participants shall report on 29.8.2023 at 9.00 AM in
   Vinay Marg Sports Complex, Chankya Puri, New Delhi along with duly filled in prescribed
   proforma as per Annexure I.

6. The participants will be grouped into teams. Major Dhyan Chand Trophy will be
   awarded to winners and runners up.

7. Participants shall be allowed to avail “special casual leave” as per Circular number
   F.No.6/1/85-Estt.(Pay-I) dated 16.7.1985. The Ministries/Departments are requested to
   allow their employees to participate in the above event liberally. They will submit a participation certificate issued by CCSCSB to their Departments. The participants must carry their Office Identity card for verification. The Certificates will only be distributed after the end of the programme. No request for participation certificate before the end of the tournament will be entertained.

8. The following categories of employees are not eligible for participation in this competition:-

(a) Uniformed personnel in Defence Services/Para Military Organisations/ Central Police Organisation/Police/RPF/CISF/BSF/ITBP/NSG etc.

(b) Employees of Autonomous bodies/Undertakings/Public Sector Banks/Corporations even though administratively controlled by the Central Ministries.

(c) Casual/Daily wages workers.

(d) Employees attached to offices on temporary duty.

In case, at any time, it is found that a player included in the team is not eligible, the team would stand automatically disqualified from the tournament.

1. Any information regarding change in dates/venue/cancellation etc. about the Tournament will be available on our website i.e. www.dopt.gov.in. All participating teams are, therefore, requested to check the details of the tournament about any possible change.

ENTRY PROFORMA FOR NATIONAL SPORTS DAY

I hereby declare that I am aware of accidents, risk and death hazards that are involved in taking part in the above meet. I shall not hold the CCSCSB responsible for any of the mishaps/accidents/injuries that might occur during games.
