The Central Civil Services Cultural & Sports Board has announced an Inter-Ministry Chess Tournament for both men and women, scheduled to take place from January 20th to 29th, 2014, at the Nirman Bhawan Table Tennis Hall in New Delhi. The tournament will feature three categories: Team Championship, Individual Championship, and Rapid Chess Championship. Each ministry is permitted to field one team for the Team Championship (with up to 5 players and a reserve) and any number of players for the Individual Championship. The Rapid Chess Championship allows for two players per ministry. Entry fees apply for each category. The tournament is open to all eligible Central Government Employees, and detailed rules and eligibility criteria are available on the persmi.nic.in website. Entries must be submitted by January 13th, 2014, through the respective Ministry’s Welfare Officer.

Subject: Inter-Ministry Chess Tournament (Men & Women) 2013-14
The Inter-Ministry Chess Tournament 2013-14 will be held from 20th January, 2014 to 29th January, 2014 at Nirman Bhawan Table Tennis Hall, New Delhi. The tournament will be conducted in 1) Team Championship, 2) Individual Championship & 3) Rapid Chess Championship. The matches will be played daily.
THE TOURNAMENT WILL BE CONDUCTED ON “SWISS LEAGUE SYSTEM” WITH SUITABLE NUMBER OF ROUNDS

(i) TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: Each Ministry can field one team only. The team may consist of 5 players including one reserve. The entry fee is Rs.100/- per team.
(ii) INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIP: Each Ministry can field any number of players. The entry fee is Rs.50/- per player.
(iii) RAPID CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP: Each Ministry can field only two players. (With one chess clock). The entry fee is Rs.50/- per player.
- The tournament is open to all Central Government Employees eligible as per existing rules. The rules regarding eligibility for participation in the Inter-Ministry Tournament have already been circulated to all the Ministries.
- The entries in the prescribed proforma, already circulated may be sent to the office of the CENTRAL CIVIL SERVICES CULTURAL AND SPORTS BOARD, Room No.361, B Wing 3rd Floor, Lok Nayak Bhavan, New Delhi-11003 latest by 13th January, 2014 duly forwarded through the Welfare Officer of the Ministry concerned. Entries received after 13th January, 2014 and without requisite entry fee are liable to be rejected.

- The tournament will be held in the Table Tennis Hall, Near Gate No.1 Nirman Bhavan, New Delhi. All the participants should report to Shri Rajesh Kumar, Convener, Chess at 9.45.A.M. sharp. The detailed programme along with relevant details and rules/regulations will be supplied to the team/players at the venue of the tournament.
