CIRCULAR

Sub: Inter-Ministry Badminton Tournament 2023-24 – Rules & Regulations/Instructions.

  1. Match Controller of Tournament : Shri Ashwani Kumar (Mobile No. 9811022388).

  2. All the matches will be played on knock-out basis on best of three games pattern (21 points each game). Rules & Regulations of the tournament will be followed as per BWF/BAI laws.

  3. Due to time limitation or any other unavoidable circumstances, as per Law of Badminton (Part-II- Section 1B-Appendix 3), match of any event should be restricted to one game of 21 points/or as decided by Chief Referee/Match Controller/Convener.

  4. All the participants are requested to report their arrival every day at the Chief Referee/Match Controller/Convener’s bench and they must be present well in advance preferably 15 minutes before the start of their respective match/s. After the expiry of 15 minutes of the schedule time the opponent will be granted walkover. Time fixture of daily matches will be displayed every day at the venue.

  5. If the previous match happens to be continued for a long time, the participants for the next match shall have to wait till the previous match is over. However, every effort will be made to conduct the next match immediately as soon as the previous match is over. The result of the next match may go against the participants, who are absent/not available at that time.

  6. All the participants will be required to wear proper kit during the matches. Only non-marking shoes will be allowed and used during the matches. Without non-marking shoes, player will not be allowed to enter the Yonex PVC flooring Badminton Courts.

  7. All the players must carry their photo ID card, failing which he/she will not be allowed to play. Participants are also requested to switch off their mobile phone while playing the match.

  8. Any event, which has less than six entries, will not be conducted.

  9. To determine age criteria for veteran categories, cut-off date will be the last date of entry i.e. 24.11.23.

  10. Smoking & use of alcoholic at the venue are strictly prohibited and those violating the rule will be liable for suitable disciplinary action under the CCS Conduct Rule.

  11. No one is allowed to move at or around the court during the game. If found doing so, relevant player/s will be warned first and repeated so then disqualify. Only Coach/Manager/Captain will be allowed during the game break.

  12. Any indiscipline players will be debarred from the Tournament by the Match Controller/Convener.

  13. Protest, if any, should be lodged in writing by the Manager of the Team to the Chief referee/Convener along with a protest fee of Rs. 2000/-, which will be refunded only in case the protest is upheld. Any protests related to the events must be made within 15 minutes after the competition of relevant event. Protest form is available with the Badminton Convener. No protest, however, will be entertained after the expiry of 15 minutes time and without protest fee.

  14. Referee/Convener’s decision shall be final and binding.
