Indian Police Service (Pay) Amendment Rules, 2014

The Central Government has issued amendments to the Indian Police Service (Pay) Rules, 2007, effective from their publication in the Official Gazette. These amendments specifically revise the pay structure for various posts within the Indian Police Service in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. For Andhra Pradesh, the Director General of Police (Head of Police Force) will now receive a fixed salary of Rs. 80,000. Other positions like Director General of Police, Additional Director General of Police, Inspector General of Police, and Deputy Inspector General of Police have also had their pay scales and increments adjusted. Similarly, for Telangana, the Director General of Police (Head of Police Force) will receive a fixed salary of Rs. 80,000, with revised pay scales and increments for Additional Director General of Police, Inspector General of Police, and Deputy Inspector General of Police. NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 18th July, 2014. G.S.R. 514(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the All India Services Act, 1951 (61 of 1951), the Central Government, in consultation with the Government of Andhra Pradesh hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Indian Police Service (Pay) Rules, 2007, namely :-

  1. (1) These rules may be called the Indian Police Service (Pay) Amendment Rules, 2014. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
  2. In the Indian Police Service (Pay) Rules, 2007, in Schedule II,— (i) in Part A relating to posts carrying pay above the senior scale of pay of the Indian Police Service under the State Governments, in the table, – (a) for the entry “Andhra Pradesh” occurring in the first column and corresponding entries in the second column, the following shall be substituted, namely : –

(ii) in Part B relating to Posts carrying pay in the senior scale of the Indian Police Service under the State Governments including posts carrying special allowance in addition to pay, in the table,– (a) for the entries occurring under “Andhra Pradesh”, the following shall be substituted, namely:-

Superintendent of Police”;

(b) after the entries relating to “Tamil Nadu”, the following shall be inserted, namely:-

“TELANGANA

Superintendent of Police”.
