Indian Administrative Service (Fixation of Cadre Strength) Fifth Amendment Regulations, 2013

I

This notification details the fifth amendment to the Indian Administrative Service (Fixation of Cadre Strength) Regulations, 1955, specifically concerning the state of Manipur. It establishes the cadre strength for various senior duty posts within the Manipur government, including positions like Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, and Deputy Commissioners, along with the minimum tenure required for each posting. The regulations came into force on December 24, 2012, and are based on the powers conferred by the All India Services Act, 1951, and the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganisation) Amendment Act, 2012. The document also outlines the distribution of posts based on promotion and direct recruitment, and references previous notifications related to the Joint Manipur-Tripura cadre. It’s important to note that these changes were enacted following amendments to the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganization) Act, 1971, which led to the creation of separate administrative cadres for Manipur and Tripura.
