Indian Administrative Service (Cadre) Second Amendment Rules, 2016

I

The Indian government has amended the Indian Administrative Service (Cadre) Rules, 1954, through the Indian Administrative Service (Cadre) Second Amendment Rules, 2016. These amendments clarify the authority of the Competent Authority to amend, modify, or reject recommendations from the Civil Services Board, requiring written justification for any such actions. The rules also detail the process for the Civil Services Board to gather information during officer transfers and to submit annual reports regarding their meetings, including public accessibility of this information. The notification outlines specific changes to sub-rule (5) of rule 7 and serial number 3 in the Schedule of the existing rules, impacting transfer procedures and reporting requirements for the Civil Services Board.
