Subject: IMPLEMENTATION OF JUDGEMENT OF HON’BLE SUPREME COURT IN CIVIL APPEALS NOS. 6046-6047 OF 2004 TITLED “ROHTAS BHANKHAR AND ORS. VS. UOI \& ANR” – EXTENSION OF BENEFIT TO NON-APPELANTS -REGARDING.
The undersigned is directed to say that in compliance with the judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in above Civil Appeals, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has modified the results of SOs/Stenos (Grade B/Grade I) Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE), 1996.
2. Accordingly, with the approval of the competent authority, orders have already been issued for inclusion of 8 appellants, who figured in the modified list, in SO SL 1996 against Examination Quota vide OM of even number dated 21.07.2015.
3. Now it has been decided with the approval of MOS(PP) to extend the benefit of the judgment to non-appellants, who participated in SOs/Stenos (Gr.B/Gr.I) LDCE, 1996 also. Accordingly, the following 25 non-appellants, who also figured in the modified results of SO/Steno (Gr.B/Gr.I) LDCE, 1996 under Category I (SO CSS) are included in SO SL 1996 against Examination Quota:

- The Ministries/Departments concerned are requested to issue necessary orders for inclusion of the above officers in SO SL 1996 against Examination Quota subject to them being clear from vigilance angle in terms of DoPT’s O.M. No. 22034/4/2012-Estt.(D) dated 2.11.2012 and other instructions on the subject.
