This office memorandum details the early closure of government buildings and offices on November 2nd, 2016, due to the First Asian Ministerial Conference for Disaster Risk Reduction (AMCDRR). The conference, hosted by the Ministry of Home Affairs, will take place from November 3rd to 5th, 2016, at Vigyan Bhawan and will be attended by ministers and officials from Asian countries, international organizations, NGOs, and the private sector. Buildings listed in the enclosure must be vacated by 4:00 PM on November 2nd to allow for security checks, with police arrangements continuing until 12:30 PM on November 3rd. The memorandum is circulated to all relevant ministries, departments, and organizations, including the President’s and Vice-President’s Secretariats, the Prime Minister’s Office, and various commissions and institutions. It also requests the NIC, DoPT to publish the memorandum on their website.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: First Asian Ministerial Conference for Disaster Risk Reduction (AMCDRR) – early closure of offices on 02.11.2016 reg.

The undersigned is directed to refer to the letter No. 154044-ND(X) dated 27.10.2016 received from the Special Commissioner of Police, who have intimated that the First Asian Ministerial Conference for Disaster Risk Reduction (AMCDRR) – will be hosted by Ministry of Home Affairs (Disaster Management Division) GOI from 03.11.2016 to 05.11.2016 at Vigyan Bhawan. The Conference will be attended by Ministers-in-charge of Disaster Management from Asian countries along with their officials, participants from International Organizations, NGOs, Private Sector entities, senior officials from Govt. of India and other stakeholders.

  1. The buildings as per the list enclosed are required to be vacated by 1600 hours on 02.11.2016 so that rooms are sealed after conducting regular anti-sabotage checks. The arrangements by Delhi Police will be continued till 12.30 hours on 03.11.2016.
