In a significant move concerning public administration, the Indian government recently finalized the allocation of Statistical Assistant posts within the Forest Department for both Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. This decision stems from a re-evaluation by the State Advisory Committee, which found that the previous distribution of posts to Uttarakhand did not align with the mandated 15.66% criteria. Following a thorough review, the committee recommended a revised allocation of six Statistical Assistant positions for Uttarakhand. It was further determined that six existing personnel, who had opted for Uttarakhand and remain in service after two retirements, would be suitably adjusted against these newly allocated posts. The Government of India has endorsed these recommendations, instructing the relevant state authorities to implement the changes and inform the central department accordingly. This move ensures equitable distribution and proper staffing within the crucial Statistical Assistant cadre, vital for departmental operations.

Sub: Final allocation of Statistical Assistants of Forest Department regarding –
Sir,
I am directed to refer to the subject noted above and to say that the State Advisory Committee in its meeting held on 17.06.2010 re-considered the final allocation of the Statistical Assistant Cadre of the Forest Department of erstwhile State of Uttar Pradesh. The Committee noted that the number of posts allocated to Uttarakhand in the Statistical Cadre is not as per the criteria of 15.66% as required under the rules. The Committee therefore recommended that against 15.66% of the posts of Statistical Assistant which works out to be 6, 6 optees are to be allocated. Further as 02 of the 08 optees working in Uttarakhand have since retired, 06 remaining optees already working in Uttarakhand shall be adjusted against the allocable 6 posts.
The Government of India has accepted the recommendations of the State Advisory Committee and accordingly, necessary action may kindly be taken as per the recommendations of the Committee under intimation to this Department.
Yours faithfully,
S.L. S. Nagar
(S. Nayak)
Under Secretary to the Govt. of India
