The government has extended the facility for online filing of Right to Information (RTI) applications through a dedicated web portal. Initially available to 37 Ministries and Departments, this service is planned to be rolled out to all remaining government entities by mid-August 2023. This initiative aims to streamline the RTI process. It’s important that all Chief Public Information Officers (CPIOs) and First Appellate Authorities (FAAs) receive necessary training, with provisions for further training if needed. User credentials for the portal will be managed by the RTI Nodal Officers within each Ministry/Department, who are urged to update details and issue login information promptly. This notification is to ensure all relevant stakeholders are informed.
