Subject: Extention of facility of Paternity Leave for 15
days to Industrial Employees in Deptts. other
than Railways – Decision of Govt. thereon
The undersigned is directed to say that the Govt.
of India for some time has been considering for
extension of facility of Paternity leave to Industrial
Employees in Deptts. other than Railways and keeping in
view the importance of Paternity leave in the present
scenario of circumstances of the Society, it has been
decided that facility of Paternity leave for 15 days may
be allowed to the male industrial employees during the
confinement period of their wives for child birth i.e.
upto 15 days before or upto 6 months from the date of
delivery of the child on the lines of instructions on
the subject issued by this Deptt. in respect of
non-industrial employees vide OM No.13018/1/97-Estt.(L)
dt.7.10.97 followed by another OM No.13018/2/98-Estt.(L)
dt.16.7.99.
These orders will also apply to the industrial
employees working in the Ministry of Defence.
These orders shall take effect from the date of
issue.
