In a recent significant move, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has greenlit the extension of an inter-cadre deputation for a prominent civil servant. Smt Gurneet Tej, an Indian Administrative Service officer from the 2006 batch, originally of the Karnataka cadre, will continue her tenure in the Punjab cadre. This extension is for an additional two-year period, commencing after May 5, 2017, and has been approved based on personal considerations.
