In an important administrative development, a key civil servant, Shri Abhishek Sharma from the 2018 IAS batch, has received an extension for his inter-cadre deputation. Originally part of the Chhattisgarh cadre, Shri Sharma’s service in the Joint AGMUT Cadre, specifically within the Jammu & Kashmir segment, will now continue for an additional year beyond July 8, 2025. This decision, issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, was approved by the Central Government, even relaxing existing policy provisions to facilitate this extension. The move underscores the government’s strategic management of its administrative talent and ensures continuity in critical roles. All relevant state and central government departments have been duly notified to implement this extension, with clear directives provided regarding the officer’s responsibilities at the conclusion of this extended period.
