The competent authority has approved an extension for Shri Manish Kishore Sinha, an IPS officer from the Jammu and Kashmir cadre (1996 batch) and Joint Director in the CBI. This extension grants him an additional six months beyond his initial five-year central deputation period, which was set to end on October 3, 2017. The extension will now run until April 2, 2018, or until further orders are issued, whichever comes first. This approval was communicated by the Department of Personnel & Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Government of India, on October 11, 2017. The communication also lists several officials and departments to be copied, including the Central Vigilance Commissioner, various Directors/Deputy Secretaries within the Department of Personnel & Training and the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the NIC for website updates.
