This order extends the ad-hoc tenure of Under Secretaries who were previously promoted from Section Officers of the CSS. The extension is granted up to December 31st, 2015, or until the positions are filled on a regular basis, whichever comes first. This applies to all officers continuously holding the Under Secretary position on an ad-hoc basis, subject to the conditions outlined in previous departmental orders. The communication is directed to all Ministries/Departments via the DOPT website and is for record-keeping purposes.

ORDER
Subject:- Under Secretaries working on ad-hoc basis – Extension of period for seven months beyond 31.05.2015 –
The undersigned is directed to refer to this Department’s Orders No.5/3/2010CS.I(U) dated 26.05.2010 and subsequent several orders for promotion of Section Officers of the CSS to the grade of Under Secretary on ad-hoc basis. With the approval of the Competent Authority, the tenure of ad-hoc appointment of Under Secretaries covered under the above orders and still officiating as Under Secretary on ad-hoc basis is hereby extended upto 31.12.2015 or till the posts are filled up on regular basis, whichever is earlier.
- This order will be applicable to all such officers who are continuously holding the post of Under Secretary on ad-hoc basis as per aforementioned orders. The continuation of the ad-hoc promotion beyond 31.05.2015 is subject to the conditions as mentioned in this Department’s aforementioned orders.
