OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Deployment of 43 UDCs of the Central Secretariat Clerical Service at the disposal of the Election Commission of the India in connection with General Election to Lok Sabha, 2014.
The undersigned is directed to say that Election Commission of India requires the services of at least 43 UDCs capable of handling computers, as additional staff on short-term loan basis to manage the General Election to Lok Sabha 2014. The additional staff would be required to report to the Commission as soon as possible and will be relieved by 1st June, 2014.
- As per Article 324 (6) of the Constitution, “…The President, or the Governor of a State, shall, when so requested by the Election Commission, make available to the Election Commission or to a Regional Commissioner such staff as may be necessary for the discharge of the functions conferred on the Election Commission..”
- In pursuance of the above Constitutional provision, the Department of Personnel & Training hereby orders deployment of 43 UDCs belonging to the Central Secretariat Clerical Service to the Election Commission of India, from the under mentioned cadre units of CSCS, including their sub-units:-

- All the cadre controlling authorities as listed above are required to relieve the requisite number of officials with direction to report to the Election Commission of India, Nirvachan Sadan, New Delhi urgently latest by 7th March, 2014.
- It is clarified that this deployment of UDCs to the Election Commission of India is in addition to the manpower being requisitioned by Chief Electoral Officer/Returning Officers, Delhi.
