OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Deployment of 57 Assistants of the Central Secretariat Service at the disposal of the Election Commission of India in connection with General Election to Lok Sabha, 2014.
The undersigned is directed to say that Election Commission of India requires the services of at least 57 Assistants and 43 UDCs capable of handling computers, as additional staff on short-term loan basis to manage the General Election to Lok Sabha 2014. The additional staff would be required to report to the Commission as soon as possible and will be relieved by 1st June, 2014.
- As per Article 324 (6) of the Constitution, “…The President, or the Governor of a State, shall, when so requested by the Election Commission, make available to the Election Commission or to a Regional Commissioner such staff as may be necessary for the discharge of the functions conferred on the Election Commission.”
- In pursuance of the above Constitutional mandate, the Department of Personnel & Training, the cadre controlling authority in respect of Assistants of Central Secretariat Service, hereby orders deployment of 57 Assistants belonging to the Central Secretariat Service to the Election Commission of India, from the under mentioned cadre units of CSS, including their sub-units:-
