This office memorandum details the extension of ad-hoc appointments for Steno Grade ‘C’ positions within the Central Secretariat Stenographers Service (CSSS). Initially permitted in October 2006 for a period up to March 31, 2007, the term of these appointments is now extended for an additional six months, until September 30, 2007, or until regular Stenographers Grade ‘C’ become available through standard recruitment processes. All other terms and conditions from the original October 2006 order remain in effect. The memorandum is addressed to all CSSS cadres and instructs the National Informatics Centre (NIC) to upload it to the department’s website.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Sub: Continuance of ad-hoc appointments in Steno Grade ‘C’ of CSSS -reg.
The undersigned is directed to refer to this Department’s O.M. of even number dated 12th October, 2006 on the subject mentioned above wherein cadres were permitted to appoint 964 Stenos Grade ‘D’ as Steno Grade ‘C’ of CSSS on ad-hoc basis initially for the period up to 31.3.2007 or until further orders, whichever is earlier and to say that further continuance of these ad-hoc appointments has been reviewed in this Department. Since availability of regular Stenos Grade ‘C’ of CSSS through normal modes of recruitment prescribed under the CSSS Rules may take some more time, it has been decided that the term of ad-hoc appointments made in the Steno Grade ‘C’ of CSSS vide this Department’s O.M. dated 12.10.2006, may be extended for a further period of six months up to 30.9.2007 or till regular Stenos Grade ‘C’ of CSSS become available, whichever is earlier.
- Other terms and conditions mentioned in the above referred O.M. will remain unchanged.
