This office memorandum addresses the extension of ad-hoc appointments for Steno Grade ‘C’ positions within the Central Secretariat Stenographers Service (CSSS). Due to anticipated delays in regular recruitment, the government has decided to extend existing ad-hoc appointments for a further six months, or until regular positions become available. This decision builds upon previous office memoranda regarding promotions from Steno Grade ‘D’ to ‘C’. All existing terms and conditions of prior appointments remain in effect. The memorandum is directed to all 40 Cadre Units of CSSS.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Continuance of ad-hoc appointments in Steno Grade ‘C’ of CSSS.
The undersigned is directed to refer to this Department’s Office Memoranda given below regarding promotion of Steno Grade ‘D’ to Steno Grade ‘C’ (PA) of CSSS on adhoc basis:
(i) O.M. No.5/11/2006-CS.II dated 12.10.2006.
(ii) O.M. No.5/4/2007-CS.II dated 3.9.2007.
(iii) O.M. No.5/4/2007-CS.II (II) dated 17.10.2007.
(iv) O.M. No.5/29/2010-CS-II(C) dated 10.9.2010.
2. The issue of further continuance of ad-hoc appointments has been reviewed in this Department. Since availability of regular Steno Grade ‘C’ of CSSS through normal modes of recruitment prescribed under CSSS Rules may take some more time, it has been decided that the term of ad-hoc appointments made/continued in the Steno Grade ‘C’ of CSSS vide this Department’s O.M. of even number dated 1.7.2010 may be extended for a further period of 6 months i.e. upto 30.06 .2011 or till regular Steno Grade ‘C’ of CSSS become available, whichever is earlier.
3. Other terms and conditions mentioned in the above referred Office Memoranda will remain unchanged.
