A recent government decision has brought a resolution to a long-standing personnel matter concerning Uttarakhand, stemming from directives by the High Court of Allahabad, Lucknow Bench. This issue involved representations made by a Stenographer and a Senior Assistant, which were initially addressed by the High Court in December 2007. A dedicated committee, chaired by a Joint Secretary, subsequently reviewed these cases. During their deliberations, it was confirmed that the two individuals at the heart of the representations had already retired from service. In light of this, the committee recommended that two corresponding vacancies be allotted to Uttarakhand. This recommendation has now been formally accepted by the Government of India, ensuring the allocation of these positions.
