OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject:- Recommendation of Fifth Central Pay Commission relating to grant of Commuted leave/ Leave on Medical Certificate to Gazetted and Non – Gazetted Government servants.
The undersigned is directed to refer to this Department’s OM of even number dt. 24.8.2000 on the subject mentioned above and to say that the request of the Staff side about the difficulties being faced by the nongazetted govt. servants to produce Medical certificate from CGHS/AMAs has been under consideration since issuance of aforesaid OM. On having reconsidered the matter, it has been decided in partial modification of the said OM that in cases like accident, heart attack, miscarriage etc.requiring emergent medical attendance, where a non-gazetted govt. servant finds it difficult to obtain Medical certificate / Fitness certificate from CGHS/AMA, the leave sanctioning authority may consider grant of leave on the basis of the Medical/Fitness certificate from an RMP after taking into account the circumstances of the specific case.
- These orders take effect from the date of issue of this OM. Formal amendments to the CCS (Leave) Rules, 1972 will follow.
- In so far as personnel serving in the Indian Audit and Accounts Deptt. are concerned, these orders issue in consultation with C&AG of India.
