OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: – Common Seniority List (CSL) of Section Officers’ for the year 1996 – regarding.
The undersigned is directed to refer to this Department’s OM No. 6/9/2014-CS-I(S) dated $11^{\text {th }}$ September 2015 for inclusion of eight officers in the SO (LDCE) for the year 1996 in compliance with the order of Supreme Court of India in Civil Appeals Nos. 6046-6047 of 2004 titled ‘Rohtas Bhankhar and Ors. V/s UOI and Anr.’
2. Subsequently, vide this Department’s O.M. of even No. dated 11.09.2015, twenty five officers who were non-appellants in the aforesaid Civil Appeals were also included in SO SL (LDCE) for the year 1996 by extending the order of the Supreme Court of India.
3. The eight appellants were also assigned Common Seniority List numbers in the grade of SO vide O.M. No. dated 31.07.2015. As, 25 more officers have now been included in SO SL 1996, the CSL numbers already assigned to the eight officers required to the modified, keeping in the view the merit list issued by UPSC. Accordingly, revised CSL numbers are assigned to the 33 officers as under:
