Classification of Posts in CCS (Leave) Rules, 1972 – Clarification

C

This Office Memorandum clarifies the reclassification of posts under the Central Government. A previous notification (No. 21/2/75-Estt.(D) dated 11.11.1975) had changed the post designations from Class ‘I’, ‘II’, ‘III’, and ‘IV’ to Group ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, and ‘D’. This memo instructs that in the CCS (Leave) Rules, 1972, any mention of the old Class designations should now be read as the corresponding Group designations. The memorandum is addressed to all Ministries/Departments of the Government of India and includes a list of recipients for copy distribution, including key governmental bodies and offices.
