This document serves as a clarification regarding the cooling-off period for IPS officer Shri Suvendra Kumar Bhagat. Following his premature repatriation from CBI to his parent cadre at the request of the State Government, it is hereby clarified that his cooling-off period will commence from December 25, 2016. This date marks the completion of his approved deputation tenure. Consequently, the officer will be eligible for any new deputation only after a three-year period, commencing from December 25, 2016, and concluding on December 25, 2019, as per Rule 14.2 of the IPS Tenure Policy. The communication is addressed to the Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation and copies are distributed to various central authorities, including the Central Vigilance Commissioner, MHA, NIC for website updates, and the concerned IPS officer himself.

In continuation of this Department’s Order No.202/64/2013-AVD-II dated 24th February, 2014 conveying the approval of the Competent Authority to the premature repatriation of Shri Suvendra Kumar Bhagat, IPS (UP:1998), DIG, CBI to his parent cadre, on the request of the State Government, it is clarified that the cooling off period would be reckoned from 25.12.2016, the date on which Shri S K Bhagat, IPS would have completed his approved deputation tenure.
- The officer will be eligible for any kind of deputation only after three years from 25.12.2016 i.e. after lapse of cooling off period on 25.12.2019, in terms of Rules 14.2 of IPS Tenure Policy.
