This notification details amendments to the Central Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1964, specifically concerning the acceptance of gifts by government servants. It clarifies what constitutes a ‘gift’ – including transport, lodging, or pecuniary advantage – and sets limits on the value of gifts that can be accepted on occasions like weddings or religious functions, varying based on the employee’s grade level (Group A, B, C, or D). The rules also address gifts from personal friends versus those with official dealings, and gifts received from foreign dignitaries. It outlines reporting requirements for gifts exceeding specified values and prohibits accepting gifts that could influence official duties. The notification also lists previous amendments to these rules.
