Central Civil Services (Conduct) Amendment Rules, 1986

This notification announces amendments to the Central Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1964. Specifically, it introduces a new Explanation I to Rule 3, defining a government servant’s habitual failure to perform tasks on time and with expected quality as a lack of devotion to duty. INTRODUCTION

9.3.5. In exercise of the powers conferred by the 11 ovies to article 309, and clause (5) of article 148, of the Constitution, and in consultation with the Comptroller and Auditor General of India in so far as the persons serving in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department are concerned, the President hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1964, namely:

  1. These rules may be called the Central Civil Services (Conduct) Amendment Rules, 1986.
  2. They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
