Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Second Amendment Rules, 1971

The President of India has issued the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Second Amendment Rules, 1971, amending the existing Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965. These rules specifically address the Planning Commission, clarifying that in relation to it, either the Secretary or the Additional Secretary to the Planning Commission will be the relevant authority. The rules come into effect upon their publication in the Official Gazette.

New Delhi, the 29th November 1971

S.O. 249.—In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 400 of the Constitution, the President hereby makes the following rules to amend the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965, namely:

  1. (1) These rules may be called the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Second Amendment Rules, 1971.

(2) They shall come into effect on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

  1. For sub-clause (vi) of clause (1) of rule 2 of the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965, the following sub-clause shall be substituted, namely:

“(vi) in relation to the Planning Commission, the Secretary or the Additional Secretary to the Planning Commission”.
