CBI Officers’ Deputation Extension Proposals Not Recommended

The CBI Selection Committee met on March 9, 2017, to review extension proposals for IPS officers on deputation. After careful consideration, it was decided not to recommend further extensions for the deputation tenure of the following officers: Shri A.K. Singh, Ms Deepika Suri, Shri Ashwani Kumar Chand, and Smt. P.C. Thenmozhi. For Shri Ashwani Kumar Chand and Smt. P.C. Thenmozhi, whose extensions were not recommended, their deputation period is to be regularized from the date of tenure expiry until a decision is made by the Competent Authority. Following this decision, both officers may be relieved immediately. The CBI has been requested to take further necessary action in this regard and to keep the Department informed.

The CBI Selection Committee in the meeting held on 09.03.2017 considered the following proposals regarding extension in the deputation tenure of the IPS officers working in CBI and after considering all aspects decided not to recommend further extension:

II Ms Deepika Suri, IPS (MP:1999), DIG, CBI 25.03.2017 to 24.03.2020 (7th year)
III Shri Ashwani Kumar Chand, IPS (SK:2000), DIG, CBI 31.10.2016 to 30.10.2018 (7th year)
IV Smt. P.C. Thenmozhi, IPS (TN:2002), SP, CBI 06.01.2017 to 5.1.2018 (7th year)
  1. In the case of Shri Ashwani Kumar Chand and Smt. P.C. Thenmozhi whose extensions are not recommended, their period of deputation is recommended for regularization from the date of expiry of their tenure till the time the Competent Authority takes a decision. Consequent upon decision taken by the Competent Authority, both the officers may be relieved with immediate effect.
  2. CBI is requested to take further necessary action in the matter, under intimation to this Department.
