A significant administrative decision has been announced regarding the inter-cadre movement of an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. Shri Jayant Narlikar, a distinguished IAS officer from the 2003 batch, who currently belongs to the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, will be moving to the Uttar Pradesh cadre. This strategic deputation, approved by the apex appointments committee, will see his central government service curtailed to facilitate the transfer. The new posting is slated to last until June 4, 2019, a move that reflects a flexible approach to existing personnel policies.
