The competent authority has approved the induction of Shri Rupak Kumar Datta, an IPS officer from the 1981 batch and Additional Director in CBI, as Special Director in CBI. This appointment will be effective from the date of assumption of charge and will continue until his superannuation on October 31, 2017, or until further orders are issued, whichever comes first. The decision has been communicated to the Director, Central Bureau of Investigation, and copies have been sent to various officials and departments, including the Central Vigilance Commissioner, EO(SM-I)/DOPT, DS(Police), and Director (Technical) at NIC for updating the DOPT website. The relevant file and guard file have also been noted.
