Appointments to the Central Administrative Tribunal

Several retired judges and IAS officers have been appointed as Judicial and Administrative Members to various benches of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT). These appointments are for a period of five years or until the age of 65, whichever comes first, with a fixed pay of Rs. 80,000 per month. The conditions of service are governed by the Administrative Tribunals Act, 1985, as amended. Appointees are required to join their respective benches within thirty days of the order’s issuance.

ORDER

The President is pleased to appoint Justice Shri Dinesh Gupta, Retd. Judge, Allahabad High Court, as Judicial Member in the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) in the scale of pay of Rs. 80,000/- (fixed) for a period of 5 years w.e.f. the date on which he assumes charge of the post or upto the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
2. The conditions of service of Justice Shri Dinesh Gupta, as Judicial Member in the Central Administrative Tribunal shall be governed by the provisions of the Administrative Tribunals Act, 1985 as amended by the Administrative Tribunals (Amendment) Act, 2006.
3. Justice Shri Dinesh Gupta is required to join the CAT, Allahabad Bench within thirty days from the date of issue of this order failing which the above appointment shall be treated as cancelled.
