Appointments Committee of the Cabinet Decisions on IAS Officers’ Repatriation and Deputation

A

In a recent administrative decision, the central government has outlined significant movements for two Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet granted an ex-post-facto approval for the premature return of an officer serving as Deputy Commissioner in Chandigarh, effective from late April. Concurrently, another IAS officer from the Haryana Cadre has been approved for an inter-cadre deputation to the AGMUT Cadre, taking on the role of Deputy Commissioner in Chandigarh for a three-year term. These personnel changes reflect the government’s ongoing management of its senior bureaucracy. Furthermore, the Ministry responsible for internal affairs has been tasked with ensuring proper follow-up actions regarding one of the repatriated officers and to proactively submit future proposals for similar premature repatriations to the Appointments Committee as needed, streamlining the process for such administrative adjustments.
