The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has recently implemented significant decisions concerning a prominent Indian Police Service (IPS) officer. The tenure of Shri Sanjay Arora, an IPS officer from the TN:88 batch, serving as the Director General of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), has been curtailed. Concurrently, approval has been granted for his inter-cadre deputation, facilitating his move from the Tamil Nadu cadre to the AGMUT cadre. This deputation will commence from his date of joining the AGMUT cadre and is slated to continue until his superannuation on July 31, 2025, or until further directives are issued, whichever event occurs earlier. This particular deputation has been approved as a relaxation of standard inter-cadre deputation guidelines.
