Appointment to the Indian Administrative Service

This notification announces the appointment of Shri Dilip Borthakur to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). The appointment is made by the President of India in exercise of powers conferred by various rules and regulations, including the Indian Administrative Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954, and the Indian Administrative Service (Appointment by Promotion) Regulations, 1955. Shri Borthakur, who is a member of the State Civil Service of Assam, is appointed against vacancies determined for the Select List year 2008, on probation until further orders. He is allocated to the joint IAS Cadre of Assam-Meghalaya. The notification is to be published in the Gazette of India.

In exercise of the powers conferred by Rule 8(1) of the Indian Administrative Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954 read with Regulation 9(1) of the Indian Administrative Service (Appointment by Promotion) Regulations, 1955 and Rule 3 of the Indian Administrative Service (Probation) Rules, 1954, the President is pleased to appoint the Shri Dilip Borthakur, a member of the State Civil Service of Assam to the Indian Administrative Service against the vacancies determined by Government of India under Regulation 5(1) of the said Regulations in consultation with the State Government for the Select List year 2008 on probation until further orders and to allocate him to the joint IAS Cadre of Assam-Meghalaya, under Rule 5(1) of the Indian Administrative Service (Cadre) Rules, 1954.
