OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Sub:

  • Appointment to the post of Private Secretary’s Grade (designated as PPS) of CSSS in PB-3 (Rs. 15600-39100+ Grade Pay Rs. 6600) for the Select List Years 2003 and 2004.

The undersigned is directed to forward herewith, Select List for the years 2003 and 2004 (as Annexure to this O.M.) prepared in accordance with sub-rule (4) of Rule 7 of Central Secretariat Stenographers’ Service (Private Secretary Grade) Rules, 1989 for appointment to the Private Secretary Grade (designated as Principal Private Secretary) of CSSS.

  1. The concerned cadre authorities of CSSS are requested to notify the appointment of the officers working under them on regular basis to the PPS Grade, in terms of DPC guidelines, provided they are clear from vigilance angle and no disciplinary proceedings are either pending or contemplated against them. The order of seniority of these officers in Private Secretary Grade (designated as PPS) of Central Secretariat Stenographers’ Service will follow the serial order given in the enclosed list, irrespective of actual dates of appointment to Private Secretary Grade (designated as Principal Private Secretary).

  2. In terms of instructions contained in DoP&T O.M. No.22011/4/98-Estt.(D) dated 12.10.1998 the appointments of retired officers need not be notified on their inclusion in the relevant Select List on promotion because promotions can take place prospectively and retired persons would not be available to avail of the actual promotion from a prospective date.

  3. A copy of the notification issued in this regard may be endorsed to this Department and Union Public Service Commission.
